AFM Optic is a family-owned company managed by Franck Marmillon. It is located in Jura, in east of France, the cradle of French spectacle manufacturing. Our optical frames and sunglasses see the light of the day in our 1000m2 factory. They are produced in a happy and relaxed atmosphere, combining several decades of savoir-faire to the passion for our trade.
We are very proud to offer French high quality frames that all have the prestigious « 100% origine France garantie » label since july 2019.
From creation to shipment, everything is done in our workshop, combinig advanced technologies and traditional craftsmanship. Most of the manufacturing processes need a great deal of dexterity because they are hand-crafted.
After selecting the best sheets of acetate, they are at least forty additional steps needed to produce a frame.
Acetate gluing, fronts and temples cutting, gluing and precision cutting of the pads, grinding, triming, bending, rivets fitting, core shooting, sanding, polishing, lens cutting, assembly, stamp printing, shaping of the frames...
As many steps and more yet to produce quality frames.
At the end of the '60s, Jean Marmillon founded his own optical frame factory. Then he specialized in frames made of acetate and in 1980 began to produce under his own label : Jean MARYLL.
The savoir-faire was passed down from generation to generation and in 1988, Franck Marmillon took over his father. He settled in new factory in 2012, to continue to best meet his customers'expectations, he launched a second label Franck M. known today as Marmillon Lunetier.
En 2015, l’entreprise s’équipe pour développer la fabrication de montures métal et combinés métal et acétate.
AFM OPTIC is historical savoir-faire, respect for tradition, craftsmanships, and passion, combined with news technologies..
